Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the EconShot mobile application ("App") and the EconShot website at econshot.app ("Website"), operated by EconShot ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the App or Website, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the App

EconShot is a data visualization tool that allows you to create charts from publicly available economic data and share them on social media. You may use the App for personal, professional, or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

You are responsible for your use of the App and any content you create or share using it. You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the App or its services.

2. Third-Party Data Sources

EconShot connects to third-party data APIs including FRED (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis), BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics), World Bank, and US Treasury Fiscal Data. Your use of data from these sources is subject to their respective terms of use:

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data provided by these third-party sources. Data is provided "as is" from the respective agencies.

3. LinkedIn Integration

If you choose to connect your LinkedIn account, you authorize EconShot to post content (chart images and captions) to your LinkedIn feed on your behalf. You are solely responsible for the content you post to LinkedIn through EconShot. Your use of LinkedIn is governed by LinkedIn's User Agreement.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

EconShot offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's Standard EULA and payment terms.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

5. Your Content

Charts, annotations, and other content you create using EconShot belong to you. We claim no ownership over your content. You grant us no license to your content — it remains on your device and is shared only when you explicitly choose to share or post it.

When using the free tier, exported charts include a "Made with EconShot" attribution line. This attribution is a feature of the free tier and is removed with a Pro subscription.

6. Our Intellectual Property

The EconShot app, website, brand assets (including the EconShot name, lightning bolt mark, and design system), and all associated code are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our app or brand assets without our written permission.

7. No Financial Advice

EconShot is a data visualization tool. Nothing in the App or on the Website constitutes financial, investment, economic, or professional advice. Charts and data presented through EconShot are for informational and visualization purposes only. You should not make financial or policy decisions based solely on information displayed in EconShot. We are not liable for any decisions made based on data or charts created with the App.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App and Website are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Data from third-party APIs will be accurate or available
• The App will meet your specific requirements
• Any errors in the App will be corrected

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your use of or inability to use the App
• Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Any third-party conduct related to the App
• Any other matter relating to the App

10. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
